ABOUT US

Our purpose

At New Jerusalem Academy, our purpose is to cultivate scholars who are independent learners and critical thinkers with Christ-centered hearts. We strive to build a strong community of faith and service that inspires creative, competent leaders equipped to impact the world. Rooted in biblical tradition and thriving through innovation, we seek to glorify God by educating strong minds through a gospel-centered curriculum, designed to honor biblical truth while embracing modern tools. Our holistic approach enhances educational outcomes and nurtures the whole child, equipping them to stand firm in a changing world.

OUR MISSION

is to REACH the hearts of students with the love of Christ through a Christ-centered education; to BUILD strong minds through academic rigor rooted in biblical truth and a culture of creativity that shapes every aspect of learning; and to TREASURE each child as a unique image-bearer of God, viewing all learning and experiences as precious gifts to make a lasting impact in this world for God’s glory.

"Cultivating Scholars with the Heart of a Knight , Biblically Rooted, Academically Innovative, Equipped to Stand Firm in a Changing World."

The purpose of Christian education

is to assist parents in training their children to be Christ-like.  This teaching and nurturing process begins in the home and continues throughout life.  The Christian school, in addition to the home and the church, is a place where the process of Christian education takes place. The foundation of Christian education is the Word of God.  From God's Word the philosophy of Christian education is developed.  Its philosophy stands against the godless philosophies of humanism, materialism, and situation ethics.

New Jerusalem Academy is an educational ministry of the New Jerusalem Church.  We request that our parents cooperate with us in the educational and Scriptural goals which we seek to achieve. NJA, then, acts in cooperation with the home and the church to produce Christ-likeness in its students; however, the ultimate responsibility for Christian education of their children remains with the parents.

Statements of Faith

As students explore the world around them, the Bible’s narrative of Creation, Fall, and Redemption should be their framework for understanding

  • The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God. It is our final authority for faith, life, and practice. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is complete and sufficient for instructing us in righteousness and equipping us for every good work.

    (2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 19:7–11; Proverbs 30:5; Revelation 22:18–19)

  • God

We believe in one eternal God who exists in three co-equal and co-eternal persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. God is sovereign over all creation, all history, and all eternity.

    (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Genesis 1:1, 26; Psalm 90:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

  • Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitute for sinners, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return personally and visibly in power and glory.

    (Luke 1:30–35; John 1:1–14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11; Revelation 19:11–16)

  • Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates the heart of the believer, indwells every Christian at the moment of salvation, and empowers them for godly living and service. The Holy Spirit also equips the Church with spiritual gifts for the building up of the body of Christ.

    (John 14:16–17; John 16:8–13; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9–17; 1 Corinthians 12:4–13; Galatians 5:22–23)

  • Creation

We believe that God created all things out of nothing for His glory. He created humanity in His image, male and female, as two distinct and complementary genders. These two sexes are part of God's good design and are not interchangeable. Each person is fearfully and wonderfully made by God and is called to live according to the biological sex assigned by God at birth.

    (Genesis 1:26–28; Genesis 2:18–24; Psalm 139:13–16; Matthew 19:4–6; Romans 1:18–27)

  • The Fall and Sin

We believe that Adam, the first man, disobeyed God, resulting in sin entering the world and bringing death and separation from God to all humanity. All people are born with a sinful nature and are in need of salvation through Jesus Christ.

    (Genesis 3; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12–21; Ephesians 2:1–3)

  • Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace and is received through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. It is not based on human effort or merit. Through repentance and faith, individuals are regenerated by the Holy Spirit, declared righteous by God, adopted as His children, and granted eternal life.

    (Ephesians 2:8–9; John 3:16; Romans 5:8–9; Titus 3:5–7; John 1:12–13)

  • Eternity

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost the saved unto eternal life and the lost unto eternal judgment. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence. Believers are secure in Christ and will dwell forever with God.

We also believe that Jesus Christ will return in glory to judge the living and the dead and will reign forever with His Church in a new heaven and new earth.

    (John 3:16–18; Revelation 20:11–15; Matthew 25:31–46; John 10:28–30; Revelation 21:1–5; 2 Corinthians 5:10)

  • Christian Living

We believe that Christians are called to live holy and obedient lives, growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. As followers of Christ, we are to be distinct from the world, walking in love, truth, and humility till the Lord returns.

    (Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 5:16–25; 1 Peter 1:13–16; 2 Corinthians 7:1)
